Less than 1%. 4k screens are more popular than VR headsets.

Though it's a misleading number to some degree. Most of the Steam consumer database are people with very old PC's who never buy anything and never upgrade anyway, so they weren't going to have a VR headset because it's new tech and they only have old tech. A large chunk of the steam database is also made up from Chinese internet cafes and this also skews the data towards the mediocre.

Porn has always led the way in the adoption of new visual and interactive technologies for main stream use. The first really wide spread remote user interaction bots will definitely be for the adult industry ( after the military )

Cool. This prompted me to go and look up the release date of BONEWORKS, which was looking like the closest thing we were going to get to a new Half Life game in VR game till now - it is coming out on the December 10 by the way.

They also worked with Valve, so I wonder if they are leveraging their physics tech for the Half Life game.

Lol but it could maybe get to 1.5% with a new half life game. Been waiting for some killer apps for VR since it launched a few years ago. There's a lot of potential there, just nothing amazing has been done with it yet. Just needs a few great innovative games and people will show more interest

Huge yikes from me if they announce half life 3 exclusive to VR that will be worse than Diablo Immortals dont you guys have a phone meme. People have been waiting years for half life 3 what's the point if a large chunk of fans wont be able to play it?

I'm not holding my breath. VR has been around for several years now and 90% of the games are still glorified arcade games and tech demos.

We've got at least three separate fan projects making adaptations of the leaked Episode 3 plot outline by Marc Laidlaw. Probably at least one of them will be finished by 2030.

Their Index headset speaks volumes of their intentions, it's the most advanced, expensive and limited VR headset, they're not trying to please everyone they just want to innovate. If it were about sales they would've released HL3 and subsequent episodes a decade ago. People have been demanding it for years but they seem unaffected so I don't think they care about memes and backlash if they were to release it in VR, they probably make enough from Steam alone.
