Looking at that GOTY list makes me realize how great 2018 was for gaming.

I will be shocked if Deathstranding doesn't win since Kojima and Keighley are BFF's

bit of an insult to include the beaten LoL players like Faker and Perkz ( who got clapped in the final ) and not include the winning DoinB who was recognized as the best player in that series

Crazy that KH3 doesn't get nominated for best art, everybody points out how close the game looks to the Pixar movies.

and lets be honest Death Stranding is going to win something. (doesn't matter what you think of the game or Kojima, he did something different and you either love it or hate it, and anything with Fortnite in it is most likely going to be Fortnite.)

A quick check of what games I played that were released this year (that were awesome...)

Outer Wilds
Metro Exodus
Outer Worlds
Dirt Rally 2
Life Is Strange 2

If I had to pick the best it would be Outer Wilds. Biggest disappointment was Anthem.

I know its highly unlikely but From Software deserves to finally win a GOTY award, Every game they bring out is top notch and they have had an impact on the industry by creating a new genre that is now being emulated by games like The Surge, Fallen Order etc.

Of course Sekiro won't win because its not mainstream enough but its easily my GOTY.
