    NZ History Books

I'm keen to read about our history, something that challenges our default narrative. Particularly viewpoint from Maori.

    Recommendations?

    Penguin History of New Zealand.

Aotearoa by Gavin Bishop is targeted towards children but is a great book to have in the house, easy for anyone to pick up and skim through and learn something.

    Sweet.

I've got Penguin History, apparently Michael King is renowned in small circles.

I'll look at that second one.

    Good luck with your search.

    It's a politically charged subject.

Apparently history is in the eye of the beholder.

There was a hard copy of the Penguin History being passed around between GP users years ago. It's a great read.

Not so sure about him, but Dame Anne Salmond has a good reputation.

It's hard to find a proper in cycle playlist via any source, Youtube, or 'official style' NZ TV websites / .govt websites. I think there is 5 episodes in total, but I'm unsure, hard to find proper source.
